How To Decide Which Rights Are Best For You

You've already made up your mind that you want to do something with resale rights. However, with all the different resale rights packages out there, you're not exactly sure if you want to go with just regular rights, master rights or private label rights. Well, hopefully, this article will point out some of the pluses and minuses of each and in so doing, will make it easier for you to decide which direction you want to go in.

The simplest of the resale rights packages is just plain resale rights, or as most people commonly call it, affiliate marketing. This is where you take a product that somebody made and simply promote it as an affiliate. This requires the least amount of work on the affiliates part. You don't need your own web site. All you have to do is send people to the sales page and you get credit for each sale. Theoretically, with simple resale rights, you can find a product and be selling it within minutes. It doesn't get any easier than this.

The downside of simple resale rights is that you have no control over anything. The creator can change the price, change the sales page and even discontinue selling it and there is nothing you can do about any of it. You are totally at the mercy of the creator. This is not a position you want to be in with 100% of your products if you intend to make a steady income online.

With master rights, you have none of the restrictions of regular resale rights, but you also have to put in a lot more work. To sell somebody else's product via master resale rights, you have to put up your own web site, especially if you want to change the pricing of the product, provided that you are allowed to do that. Some master rights specifically say that the product has to sell for a certain amount. Selling a master rights product is more work than just being an affiliate.

Finally, there's private label rights. With PLR, you have no restrictions at all, unless they are specifically designated in the rights file. The problem with PLR products is that you are totally in control. This means you are also in control of possibly turning a great package into a piece of garbage. Remember, with PLR products, you can make any changes you want. You can even completely redesign the whole thing with your own ideas. While this may turn it into a better product, it may also ruin it completely. PLR products are absolutely the most work of all. However, you can make a lot more money with PLR products that you can as just an affiliate because it becomes your product.

As you can see, there is good and bad with all resale rights packages. So you need to weigh the pluses and minuses and decide which is best for you. In the end, you need to decide if you want to put in more work for more money down the road, or less work now to make the quick score, even if you don't make as much.
