Viral Marketing Services
A lot of people ask me what the difference is
between a viral marketing tool and a viral marketing service? Well,
a viral marketing tool is something that you use yourself to
generate a viral stream of traffic to your site whereas a service
is a company that will virally circulate your message for you. Then
they ask me what the difference is. Well, it comes down to cost
really. But I'm getting ahead of myself. In this article I'm going
to cover some top viral marketing services after I explain the real
difference between a tool and a service.
If you were to get one of those viral marketing
tools, say something like the "Tell-A-Friend" script, basically
what you would be paying for is the script itself. You would be
responsible for installing it and getting it working. But after
that, the only other expenses are what you pay for in hosting and
domain fees. With a viral marketing service, you pay them to
virally circulate your site around the Internet. Some of these
services offer tools as well, in case you want to do it yourself.
With a service, however, you have to pay them each time you want
them to circulate your site, and these costs can add up over time.
Of course the advantage is that you don't have to mess with script
installations and the like, and can concentrate on other
things.
It isn't hard to find viral marketing services.
Just go to Google and do a keyword search for that phrase. You'll
find plenty of them. I'm going to give you just a few of the top
ones that you'll find in this article.
One of the top ones that you will find is Quirk.
They claim to focus on building your "brand image" while building a
controlled list of "qualified" prospects for you to communicate
with in order to build your business. Naturally, they don't tell
you exactly how they plan on doing this. Signing up with their
service is kind of a blind faith thing. Strangely enough, if you
comb their site from top to bottom, there is no mention on what any
of their services cost. You have to contact them in order to find
out. Well sites don't post their rates, you know they're going to
be expensive.
Another top site is VML. Don't ask me what VML
stands for because there are no explanations anywhere on the site.
The list of things that they cover, at least as far as what they
call viral marketing, is extensive. You'll find things like
broadcasting, direct marketing, sweepstakes contests and rewards
and so on. They really have just about everything covered and seem
to offer a wider range of services than Quirk. Again, don't expect
to find any prices on this site. It's like going into a fancy
French restaurant.
The top services are unquestionably good,
otherwise they wouldn't have the reputations that they have. But be
warned, you are talking about spending mega bucks to use these
people.
You may want to consider installing that Tell A
Friend script after all.
